A case study at Curtis Fundamental Elementary in Florida prooved that "With Kindle, students are highly engaged and willing to read for longer periods of time," reports reading tutor, Debbie McCarthy.

Jan Hager began by purchasing 73 Kindle e-readers for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes. With Kindle children read more and longer. After the big success Parent Teacher Association (PTA) funded a second set of Kindle e-readers for the school. 
A survey of parents also suggests, that E-readers and tablet computers encourage youngsters to read. It reveals that parents believe that these gadgets help capture children's interest in books.
